The Civil Service caters to a wide range of talent, ranging from individuals who are groomed to fill key general management positions, to officers who contribute in core areas of expertise such as line operations, human resource management, finance and corporate services, public affairs management or research and information support. Different schemes are available for candidates with different interests and aspirations.

| Interested applicants can join the Singapore Civil Service as part of a professional scheme of service such as the education, foreign, economist, uniformed or legal service among others. Alternatively, applicants can join the more generic management executive scheme and be involved in a wide range of work which may include policy formulation, organisational development, international relations and others. |
 If you are recruited into the Management Associates Programme, you will be carefully groomed to take on higher-level positions within the Civil Service. Management Associates found suitable at the end of the programme will be invited to join the Administrative Service, which is the premier scheme of the Singapore Civil Service. |
