The Foundation Course is a milestone programme designed to provide you with a firm grounding in the values, knowledge and skills essential to assume a leadership career in the Civil Service, and to gain a deeper understanding of Singapore and ASEAN. The course includes attachments to operational departments, grassroots and social service organisations. You will get to participate in closed-door discussions with decision makers, visit ASEAN countries and meet with your overseas counterparts to widen your regional perspectives.
Cross-Ministry Project Teams Get the opportunity to work with other officers on strategic, cross-agency issues that impact Singapore’s survival, security and success. Participation in these project teams will allow you to be exposed to a wide range of national issues.
Policy Forums and Seminars These exclusive forums and seminars aim to provide you with opportunities to better understand the rationale behind public policies. Prominent foreign speakers will be invited to offer their perspectives and give deeper insight. These forums and seminars are instrumental in educating you on the breadth of issues confronting Singapore.
Mentorship Management Associates can look forward to being mentored by Administrative Officers who will provide advice and guidance on career development and all aspects of the Service. Permanent Secretaries and/or Deputy Secretaries also meet with Management Associates regularly to provide counsel and guidance. Extensive on-the-job learning and other forms of continuous training and development complement the formal programmes.
